The design for this iteration of the Nike React Element 55 started with a "back-to-the-basics" approach, then took those insights and applied a computational design lens to map the pressure points for people who walk intensively throughout the day, according to designer Darryl Matthews. The lightweight upper and plush, durable foam underfoot have now been reconstructed for a premium walking experience.Graphic elements on the upper nod to the computational design process.Wavy design lines on the laces still nod back to heritage runners, like the Nike Internationalist.The TPU heel clip provides a stable feel.Nike React technology delivers an extremely smooth ride.Rubber pods on the midsole/outsole add durable traction.
